Peabody-Vance Neighborhood Association

Interview With President of Association

Peabody-Vance Neighborhood Association Mission encourages property owners, stakeholders, residents, and businesses to maintain a safe and clean environment free of illegal activities. We hope that we will attract developers to assist with the plan to restore the undeserved neighborhood to what was once a beautiful place to live, play, worship, and travel through. We hope to inspire and be a model for other undeserved communities.

The History of Peabody-Vance Neighborhood

The area has been undeserved for many years. At one time the neighborhood was known to be a wealthy place where mostly farming existed. The resident of the farming community-built mansions and beautiful homes. Migration of the prior owners led to new ownership that unfortunately did not maintain or invest in the community upkeep. It became an unsafe place to live and travel through. In the year of 2006, I would drive through the neighborhood to get to downtown Memphis. As I traveled through the beautiful Central Garden, just miles away I found myself traveling through an impoverished area.
We are thankful to see the anchors, authorities, businesses, stakeholders, property owners, residents, community leaders, and organizations dedicate themselves help Peabody Vance Neighbors with a plan to make our neighborhood beautiful and safe for all.
